Palmako associated websites development and support
Five associated websites migrated from Drupal 7 onto a shared Drupal codebase — a cooperation running since 2016, now on Drupal 11 — with per-brand customisation and a shared maintenance workflow.
Challenge
Palmako is an international timber industry and garden house manufacturing group. Five associated websites — HEAT!T, Construct, Imprest, Palmako and Palmako Corporation — serve different brands and target markets across multiple countries and languages. WebPro migrated the entire system from Drupal 7, redesigning and rebuilding everything in close cooperation with the client's representative. Wulcan was a partner throughout the project, and the frontend was developed by a developer from zezz.ee. Each site has its own product range and audience, but all run on a shared Drupal codebase with over 50 purpose-built custom modules and a common maintenance and deployment workflow.
Solution
- Migration from Drupal 7 with a full redesign and rebuild, ongoing version upgrades to Drupal 11 and technical support across all five sites since 2016
- Component-based frontend with a shared design system adapted per brand
- Product catalogue with filtering, comparison, sorting, wood profiles, pictograms and sub-navigation
- Product data import from an external API with queue-based async processing and cross-site content synchronisation
- Custom Drupal entity types for cross-site management, user favourites and product comparison
- Region and language-based content handling for international audiences
- Tailored content editing workflows and custom CKEditor functionality
Outcome
All five sites run on Drupal 11 with a shared maintenance and deployment workflow. Product catalogue features, region handling and per-brand customisation are managed in one technical process. Development and support continues.
